Stage 2 Stage 2 Stage 2

Episode 1: Bringing Jesus into Your Everyday Life

Thank you for continuing with Stage 2. Stage 1 was learning who Jesus is. It was just a start because you will be learning about Jesus the rest of your life. Stage 2 is all about application.

When you start a relationship with Jesus it is important to bring Him into your everyday life. When you start a relationship with Jesus it is important to bring Him into your everyday life. When you start a relationship with Jesus it is important to bring Him into your everyday life.

Here are 5 practical steps to help you do just that.

1. Start your day off right:

Start your day with a simple prayer. Say a prayer maybe as short as, "Jesus, I need you today."  This sets the tone for your day and reminds you that He is with you always.

2. Engage with the Bible:

Take a few minutes each day to read a chapter or so from the Bible. Since you are new in your relationship with Jesus, start with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) to learn more about Jesus' life and his teachings. Try to set a time each day that works with you. This will start building the habit of engaging in God’s word.

3.  Prayer and Journaling:

Set aside time for prayer and reflection each day to go along with your Bible time. This is a little bit more in depth than step 1. This could be journaling your thoughts and prayers, being quiet and listening to what Jesus is saying to you through the Bible that you are reading, or simply talking to God about your hopes, fears, and dreams. Building your relationship with Jesus involves communication and listening.

4. Engage in a Church:

Find a community of believers, preferably in a church, who can support and encourage you in your relationship with Jesus. Life is not meant to be done alone and surrounding yourself with other people that are in a relationship with Jesus can provide accountability and spiritual growth. Don’t just go to a church but get involve, ENGAGE. Join a small group, bible study, go sing with the other people around on Sunday, listen to the Pastor, take notes, and ask questions.

5. Tell People:

Tell your friends and family that you have started a relationship with Jesus. Talking about Jesus will help your relationship come alive in you and shows the people in your world that this is something real.

The purpose of Stage 2 is to help you incorporate Jesus into your everyday life. There are many more things that you can do to accomplish this but start with these 5. We will go a little deeper in these 5 steps in the rest of this stage.
