Stage 3 Stage 3 Stage 3

Episode 1: The Start of the Beginning

Ok…so let’s review.

You asked Jesus to come into your life and be your Savior. You now have a relationship with the Son of God.

You have been getting to know who Jesus is, and you have gotten a few tips to start growing in your relationship with Him.

So, what is next?

Stage 3 is all about deciding to go all in with Jesus.

Just like with a significant other, there comes a point where you have to decide that you are in it for the long haul. Just like with a significant other, there comes a point where you have to decide that you are in it for the long haul. Just like with a significant other, there comes a point where you have to decide that you are in it for the long haul.

This is that stage with Jesus.

When you decide to follow Jesus, it is like turning the page to a new chapter in a book. Everything that has happened before—your mistakes, regrets, and pains—can be seen in a new light.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

This isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s a promise.

You are not defined by your past; you are defined by who you are becoming in Christ. You are not defined by your past; you are defined by who you are becoming in Christ. You are not defined by your past; you are defined by who you are becoming in Christ.

Think of it like spring after the winter. Just as flowers bloom and trees regain their leaves, your spirit is awakening to new possibilities. Embrace this freshness!

Each day is an opportunity to grow, learn, and reflect on the love that God has for you.

However, following Jesus isn’t easy. Jesus even says so.

"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." - Matthew 16:24-25

These words of Jesus summarize what it requires of some one that follows Jesus. this means letting go of the things that hold you back—like fear, selfishness, or unhealthy habits—and choosing to follow Jesus with EVERYTHING.  It’s about prioritizing His ways over your own desires.

Think about what it means to “lose your life” for Jesus. It’s not about giving up who you are, but rather discovering the truest version of yourself in Him. As you embrace this journey, you’ll find that you’re not just existing for yourself but living for something much greater.

Remember, this process is gradual. Every day is an opportunity to grow in your faith, learn more about Jesus, and deepen your relationship with Him. Celebrate the small steps that you make along the way, and don’t be afraid to lean on your church community for support. As you follow Him, you’ll uncover something amazing in your life that only comes from surrendering to His love and guidance as you learn to take up your cross and follow Him. Trust that in this journey, you’re not alone—Jesus is right there with you, leading you into a life that’s truly worth living.

So what is next? The next step is getting deeper with Jesus than you have ever been. It’s okay to feel uncertain or overwhelmed at times because this is an extremely hard thing to wrap your brain around.  Remember, God is patient and understanding. He always there.

This stage is the start of the beginning. Embrace your new identity in Christ. Use this stage to learn what it means to go all in with Jesus.
