Here are 4 tips to get yourself started reading the best book ever written.

4 Tips to Get Started Reading the Bible

1. Set the Scene

Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can focus without distractions.

Take a moment to center yourself and invite God's presence into your time of devotion.

You can combine this time with your Prayer time if you would like.  Make reading the Bible a priority so set alarms on your phone to remind you.

If you are not a reader, search the Bible App and listen to the Bible.

2.  Read a Passage

Choose a short passage from the Bible that speaks to you.  A good place to start is the Gospels.  Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.

Read the passage slowly and attentively. Consider what it means and how it applies to your life.

3.  Reflect and Journal

Write down your thoughts, feelings, and any insights you gained from the passage. This can be in the form of a prayer, reflection, or personal response.

Consider questions like: What is Jesus saying through this passage?

How can I apply this to my life today?

4. Closing Prayer

Close your time with a short prayer. Thank Him for speaking to you through His Word and ask for guidance and wisdom for the day ahead.

A lot of times Christians read the Bible and then check that off the list as a task done for the day.

The goal for reading the Bible is not just to get it done, but to grow closer to Jesus and deepen your relationship with Him.
