As someone that just started your relationship with Jesus,

It is normal to deal with doubt and uncertainty when faced with the changes that a relationship with Jesus brings into your life. It happens even after you’ve been following Jesus for a while, too. The story of “Doubting Thomas” shows us doubt is a natural part of faith, and even the ones that walked along with Jesus experienced doubts.

"But Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, 'We have seen the Lord!' But he said to them, 'Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.' A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!' Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.' Thomas said to him, 'My Lord and my God!' Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'" - John 20:24-29 (NIV)

Here are 3 tips on Dealing with Doubt.

Pray and Seek

During your prayer time, voice your doubts and questions to Jesus. Take those things to Him in prayer and seek his guidance through the Bible.

Don’t Be Ashamed

A lot of times we feel horrible when these doubts come but look at the story above. Jesus met Thomas in his doubt and provided the answers that he needed. Jesus didn’t belittle Thomas because he doubted, Jesus proved who He was. So just know that He isn’t mad at you. Let Jesus prove Himself to you.

Ask for Guidance

Along with voicing your doubts and questions to Jesus, take them to a trusted leader in your church. Let that person help guide you deal with your doubt through the passages in the Bible. As stated in previous episode, you are not in this alone.

The changes that come with following Jesus may be challenging, but they are ultimately for your growth and your own transformation.
